Abstract: This manual describes the code crmol a collisional-radiative modelling code which produces effective rate coefficients and population coefficients for the analysis of hydrogen, including molecular hydrogen, in plasmas. The manual comprises six sections 1. Introduction. 2. A mathematical definition of what crmol is supposed to do, and some proofs relevant to the validity of collisional-radiative models. Most of the rest of the manual can be used without a detailed understanding of this section. 3. Instructions for running the code, the most relevant part for users. 4. Details of electron energy loss rates, which are also calculated by the code. 5 . Discussions on validity and accuracy. 6. A detailed example, showing how the code can be used to calculate the number of Fulcher band photons/molecular loss. and three appendicies giving details of the data used in the code.
